Is it good enough just to take a daily backup?

Backups are needed not only to secure a copy of your data but to be able to revert to earlier versions for history.  So you need to manage your backups in a cycle.

So you need to keep managed backups.  Where should you keep them?  In a draw in the office?

We would say NO!!  Backup data should be kept away from the the office to ensure against fire, theft and flood.

Aside from the above you should also consider the environment that your computer systems operate in, for instance at a micro level - local to the data and systems themselves - but also at macro level in the wider business environment.
